I just wanted to let you know that my monograph, Blood Expiation in Hittite and Biblical Ritual: Origins, Context and Meaning, should be out later this month. Though I do not focus on the scribal aspect, I think it adds an important piece to the puzzle by tracing the biblical sin offering back to a Levantine tradition attested in Late Bronze Hurro-Hittite ritual texts. Since my assumption is that the ritual instructions in P had an independent existence (not necessarily Judean) before being incorporated in the narrative framework, I attempt to reconstruct, to the degree possible, the pre-history of P as well as how certain ritual instructions (e.g. Lev. 16) have been adapted to the narrative framework. Hope you will find it useful, and I look forward to seeing where you go with this!yitzhaq federhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16609090498615095190noreply@blogger.com
